Late February

As I've been saying all week, the weather pattern here at the beach is kind of wonky - we have had high's in the upper 70's, then the next thing you know, the weather folks are tellin' us to bring in the pets and cover the plants! In fact, today and tomorrow are supposed to be very spring-like, high's in the mid-70's, but then Sunday nite, a stormfront is expected, and they say temps will dip back down to 38*. Anyway, this was taken last Sunday (on one of the warm days!) on our way to the 'mainland', going over the intracoastal waterway; I just thought the clouds-in-the-clouds was an interesting natural effect...

"Late February days; and now, at last,
Might you have thought that Winter's woe was past;
So fair the sky was and so soft the air."
- William Morris

Yup, it's the same here. Yesterday it was in the 70s. Tonight it is going to dip down into the 20s. That's Wonky alright!

I do love the clouds within a cloud. Very cool.

Thank you so much for sharing.

I'm sorry, we don't permit SWF to be combined with other memes like this. If you'd like to submit a separate post for Skywatch, we'd welcome your participation.

The Morris quote is the perfect description of February! Here in Illinois we're supposed to have snow again this weekend...February is getting in its last hurrah.

Thank you for visiting me and for your good wishes; my father is doing much better.

Posting from the diagonal opposite corner of the state - SW Florida. I hear you about the variable weather! We're getting another cold front down this way on Sunday. One can only hope that it brings both rain and sea shells!

I love when there are clouds layering over the other clouds as it gives it even more of a three dimensional effect than just white clouds on a blue sky. Very, very nice - wonky weather and all!

it's wonky here in NJ too, in the 60s right now - tomorrow it will be the 30s and snow on Sunday

looks like giant footprints in the clouds - very cool
